In a time when the act of reading is changing significantly, the physical book as a mechanism for reading, is being brought into question. My practice is concerned with the book as machine, or reading machine, and bound up with an imagined escape from the page.
Through a variety of media, including installations and bookworks, I examine how we read through machines and so how we interact with them. Using instructional language, questioning narrative text and visual signs on the printed page, I create work with existing and new material, both written and visual, processing my own ideas alongside the ideas of others.
Join us to celebrate creativity and spot the stars of the future this summer. Eclectic exhibitions of art, design, fashion, communication and performance are taking place at sites across London from April to September and are free to attend.More information
