Description
Coei's innovative way of how jewellery was sat onto body challenged the traditional relationship of jewellery to the body. She believes jewellery could do better than just a beautiful object added to decorate body or garment. Her passion for innovation and excellence makes her designs unique and message behind her jewellery allows wearer and viewer look at jewellery in a different way.
This luxurious yet dark collection telling a different story against the glamorous facade of every piece. The collection hides dangers, discomfort and restrictions within jewellery that viewer do not know unless you put them on.
The collection is inspired by one of the most glamorous Imperial court in Chinese history, the Qing Dynasty.
'Love is survival.
Seduction is power.
And treachery a way of life...' -- Anchee Min
People were dazzled by its magnificent gold coated palace and exquisite lives that the Emperpor and his Concubines were living. But beneath its extravagant facade there were stern etiquette and restrictions that we did not know; dangers that we did not see.
We have always been misled by our eyes but truths are always beyond what we've seen.
