As a jeweler, it is a common discussion to consider the wearability in one project. It might be part of human tendency with forward vision concentrating on the front of the facial rather than the back. That is why the area of the back of the neck seems to be less considered than the front part. These neglects may allow more opportunities for discovering new ideas at the back of neck.
This collection is about the “nape pieces”. Nape is often used to describe the back area of the neck. People suggest that the nape defines the bottom hairline of the back, where the skull meets the neck. In oriental fashion, it is seemed as a seducible area of female’s body. Upon this special part, the collection is modernly designed, but could present a traditional oriental aesthetic.
The design of this collection concentrates on the nape. It is inspired by orchid, which support the design to break the boundary between hindbrain and nape. That is why the designs (for some of the pieces) at the both areas are combined into one object. I am hoping that there is no limitation to identify whether these are “nape pieces” or “hair pieces”.
