Karimah Ashadu
MA Interior and Spatial Design 2011
Chelsea College of Art & Design
Description
Karimah Ashadu is a British-born, Nigerian Spatial Designer and Artist. Backed by a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours in Fine Art and History of Art and Architecture from The University of Reading, Karimah employs a highly conceptual approach to design.
She works with the filmic medium. For example, in a set of conceptual videos, she performs a series of spatial concerns to unveil untold stories about certain spaces. Titled 'pace', these performances examine notions of movement and narration in relation to the body and architecture. In 'pace', the body might be proposed as an extension of the architecture, often 'performing' the space, or its elements.
She is a Member of the Society of British Interior Design and the Association for Project Management.
