I am British/Australian and have recently completed the MA in Fashion Design and Technology. My work at the London College of Fashion has focused on the development of print and couture techniques and an exploration of the relationship a person has with their clothing.
I gained the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Fashion Design) with Distinction from the Queensland University of Technology in Australia, majoring in ready-to-wear and swimwear after which I was selected to show at 'The Shape of Things To Come' exhibition showcasing the top graduating students' work. My swimwear collection was a finalist at the Australian Fashion Design Awards in 2007. I have previous work experience with Collette Dinnigan, Easton Pearson, MXM Couture and Lorna Jane.

The interest I have in the personal links we develop with the clothing we wear was the primary influence behind my MA collection. Clothing is worn next to the skin and over time becomes imbued with the memories of different times, places and people.

The 'Astroescence' project began as a desire to imbed personal meaning in a garment from the very beginnings of the design process. Using the principals of Astronomy and Astrolocality, a design process was developed to enable a garment to be designed usng the parabolas of planetary orbits around the Earth at a specific moment in time. This means that a specific event or moment in a person's life can be 'captured' through the design of a garment following this design methodology.
The resulting garments are both structural and sculptural and easily transfer from a couture methodology to ready-to-wear manufacturing techniques.

My next project, entitled 'Bodymapping', focuses on examining underlying body structure and using bespoke prints and cutting techniques to create these in an abstract form through clothing.
