MiO JIN

MiO JIN, who is from South Korea, began her career at LCF studying BA (Hons) FDT Menswear where she won various plaudits through industry projects including with ASOS.com and Boxfresh. She joined MA Fashion Design and Technology Menswear after gaining a prestigious Harold Tillman Scholarship. Mio Jin came to fashion design later in her career after spending her early twenties in art and design. After working as a creative pattern cutter and designer for various designers including Amiee McWilliams, Yuko Yoshitake and Martine Rose, she decided she wanted to further hone her skills through the MA programme. Mio’s collection is a beautiful reflection of her skills as a fine artist – using traditional, silk screen printing to print her own drawings onto shirts. Her exquisite technical pattern cutting skills are evident in the complex use of panelling and fusion of modern and traditional tailoring techniques. Mio has used a colour palette of gold, purple and grey with each outfit brought together through clever construction using panels and colour. Mio would like to further develop her brand and set up her own business after graduation.
