Description

My research focuses on investigating the viewers experiences and perceptions with space and the psychological implications that are present in this relationship. Works I create employ constructed visual forms and environments that heighten or aim to enhance a visual and physical interaction.

The physical and optical nature of the work is acted upon with the choice of minimal forms and fabricated materials; these are reflected upon with a need to engage and relate to the viewer through its human scale. Translucent, linear and mirrored components have intent to allow an insight into the overall physical structure of the pieces that bring into play depth perception and the notion of 'Stereopsis'.

The optical/ocular relationship presented through these geometric constructions is an important aspect in this process of visually perceiving the space and areas created.

The term 'Kinesthesia' is connected in this relationship explained as the exploration of environment through movement of the eyes or body.
