KOU
The collection is named ' Kou', which means button in Chinese. It is inspired by Chinese frog button which is usually used to fasten the front of an oriental garment while decorating it at the same time since 500 years ago. As the first button on the cheongsam which is considered to present the beauty of Chinese ladies, it is also women’s last line of defense. Under the fascinating figure of this button, women’s inner world is full of little-known secret stories and changeable emotion which are colorful and unpredictable. The collection ‘Kou’ is expected to express the rich inner emotion of women by combining colorful Swarovski crystal with refined elegant Asian style.

' Joinery in Jewels '
It is inspired by Asian joinery which was used in timber architecture and furniture for about 7000 years history already. The typical characteristic of joinery is that its smart construction can make two parts join together without any other things, such as pins, nail and glue. With the refining of Asian elements and the combination of different materials, the aim is to show the thoughts of Yin and Yang that the reverse only exists in balance of relationship to each other. Furthermore, the Designer expected to show there can be no force between the human beings and environment. Each part of jewellery can be removable by the smart construction which help extending the service life of fashion by changing the components for repairing or latest trend of color and textile. In this collection, traditional hand-made and modern technique are both involved, like silversmith, 3D print and laser cutting.

Octavia Xiaozi Yang is interested in collaborative work and would like to gain further experience with a high end luxury brand.

AS GOOD AS WATER (RING)

Lao Tzu said, as good as water.
Water presents a good personality that following the fate instead of importunity. Coloured glaze is a traditional but special material. Even after thousand years, you can not tell which kind of mixed color you will get before baking. It seems like a practice to follow your god plan, and wait for the exciting moment coming.
