A walk through the mall or the shopping district has become routine in most urban lifestyles. The mushrooming of opportunities to buy had been overwhelming and most of us have taken to it naturally. The thin line between the store and the brand has vanished, which has created a branded environment to which we relate to unfailingly. Each shop that I have browsed has had an appeal, creating impulses to walk through, look, buy, and in some cases – plain walk out. These incidents have always aroused my curiosity to analyze.
My undergraduate studies in Fashion Communication has provided me with lasting inputs in many area including Visual Merchandising, Graphic Design, Photography and Advertising, which I now understand to be contributing elements towards our retail experience. The Interior Design Diploma had been an endeavour to enhance my CAD skills in addition to my design repertoire which would eventually contribute towards the commercial success of retail ventures.
