BA (Hons) Textile Design 2011

Description
I'm specialized in stitch, mix media textile.
My final collection - Concomitant Reflection was initialy inspired by a French artist Pierre Soulages, a series of black paintings. The irregular brushed marks which made the surface has some different depths and levels of black colour. Some brighter and some darker black were presented in the same time, meanwhile, the light and the shadow become a following concomitant reflection. In addition, I was also looking at the nature light projecting through the British museum's ceiling which caused the regular shadow directing on uneven columns. This also became the concomitant reflection.
To translate my idea into textile, I had been experimenting different techniques. Moreover I used materials such as leather, plastic tube and safety pins, organza pleats to mix the techniques with moulding, insetting, hand cutting and thread wrapping etc.
