Thirteen years with shoe company Bally in Malaysia helped me to understand commercial and design trends. The Masters in Fashion Footwear enabled me to challenge boundaries, particularly in men’s footwear.

My collection draws on my Chinese heritage - the designs and craftsmanship of Chinese Imperial Robes and symbolic motifs - to introduce embroidery techniques to leathers, using the hierarchy of motifs to correspond to differing boots and shoes. To contrast, half my collection is in different plain leathers.

Mine is an androgynous concept collection to compliment both the male and female, those who are self-confident and aspire to be different.
