Creative and highly committed Cordwainers Footwear Design Graduate aiming to broaden my knowledge of the luxury footwear industry, both in design and development.
FINAL YEAR COLLECTION
Taking Pedro Almodóvar’s work as the main inspiration, the following lines from his film ‘Kika’ (1993) outline the collection just as neatly as the perfect eyeliner: “The eyelash widens the eye, gives depth, expression, shape. A girl with almond-shaped eyes is better than one with spaniel eyes. Even the most banal woman looks intelligent, looks sparkling with lashes. Eyelashes are great. I’m all for them, girls!”
My collection represents a journey from basic to luxury, nine simple vibrant red suede shoes inspired by quotidian actions such as the make-up routine women do everyday, not forgetting the gloss of nail polish symbolised in the deep red patent leather and the strong black colour proper of eyebrows and eyelashes.
