Description
I am a painter/bookmaker. The concerns of my practice are fantasy and fairytales. I create make-belief worlds through various media focusing on escapism through imagination. The work is an attempt to realize the need for inventions of unrestrained fantasy in our society; it defines the moment when the boundary between the real and the imaginary blurs. Referencing everyday life I morph mundane objects into people and animals creating fantasy worlds, dreamscapes and imaginary creatures. I aim for a fluid transition of imagery over various surfaces to create fantasy worlds without boundaries and wholly involve the viewer in a surreal world that will trigger their imagination and encourage them to involve with the work.
