Gisèle Nzolameso
BA (Hons) Fine Art 2009
Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design
Description
Gisèle's work explores the themes of identity, gender, poverty, exploitation and genocide. She invites her audience to confront rather than escape the reality of socio-political issues. Her latest work 'Your Screams Are Not Forgotten' is a video installation about the plague of Congolese women and children in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
Using moving and intrusive imagery Gisèle seeks to implicate the viewer while stressing universal values and emotions: pain, compassion, distress, hope, altruism, exploitation, fear, greed and courage.
