Description

Multiple Images; A Caged Retrospective of a Personal Form

Classical form, contemporary interpretation.

Halime Ozdemir studied Fine Art (Drawing) at Camberwell between 2004-2008, now presents 4 of her latest works. The pieces will be exhibited at Camberwell College of Arts (Peckham road) in Room 313 from 14th June through to 21st July. The Camberwell Arts Festival will be running in conjunction with this event.

"The work, entitled multiple images; A Caged Retrospective of a Personal Form represents a selection of work created in the past year highlighting shadow and contrast by manipulating the illustrated form.

The title of this work is a reflection of the use of twine encapsulating the figures thus creating a metaphysical impression of a bound woman. Whilst some may see this as representation of the female suppression, I view this as a stage in the journey of work in progress, neither dictating a political position nor personal bias.
