Hamida Choudhury
BA (Hons) Surface Design 2010
London College of Communication
Description
Hamida Choudhury is a budding Art Student. She has developed a fascination for bursts of vibrant colours merging and twining together. With this as a vocal theme and inspiration, she applies this style to quirky home-ware and fashion garments.
Taking inspiration from tropical flowers and British blooms Hamida manages to create beautiful yet striking designs.
Hamida loves to paint wet on wet using watercolours and inks to produce an unusual, almost marbled effect, which work lucratively on silks, velvet and heavy weight paper resulting in interesting and delightful fabrics for furnishing or sumptuous wallpapers.
The main attraction for Hamida's work comes from her interest to produce unique paintings for each design, making all her work 'one offs' as no two flowers are the same in one design, asking viewers to admire the design even more closely.
