AW/12 :
Influenced by non-fashion bodies presented in the form of NANA sculptures by Niki de Saint Phalle, anti-mainstream style movements and individualist body art, I explored a multiple shade scheme of black that is defined through 3D surface embellishment, giving the illusion of body art growing from the wearer, through the garment, gaining its own life. I've researched sub-cultures and used elements of them in very fine detailing of my pieces, such as functioning piercing into a seam to create a piece.

As a designer, I am constantly inspired by people who break free of society’s expectations to fit into a certain mould, body and appearance. I always seek to explore and develop a concept fully without restrictions like trends or pre-set ideas of what the final garments should be or shouldn’t be. This way, the full potential of an idea can be realized; sometimes mistakes made during the development of a garment can lead to unintentional great outcomes.
