Matthew Nicholson
MA Communication Design 2011
Central Saint Martins College of Arts & Design
Description
Matthew Nicholson is a designer and educator living and working in London/Hertfordshire.
The work exhibited at this years Future map exhibition comes from a series inspired by the inaccessibility of coveted objects. In this case specifically the Leica M3 pinhole camera. Nicholson has re-created the desired object with one singular rule that the template must be accessible through his A4 inkjet printer. To complete the sense of ownership the paper replica retains the functionality of the original accepting 35mm film and functioning through a pinhole.
