Description
My collection is based on the traditional Japanese folk tale The Grateful Crane which tells the tale of a crane who can weave exquisite fabrics out of her own feathers. The aim of the project was to create my version of how I imagined the beautiful fabrics depicted in the story, ultimately producing a collection that would captivate and mesmerize the viewer, just as the fabrics were described in the story. Each of the fabrics has an individual theme that portrays a different part of the story. The collection was designed with the high-end Womenswear market in mind, specifically for kimono-inspired garments.
