Nerys Ann D'Esclercs
After hopping from studying Styling at Istituto Marangoni, to Fashion Criticism at London College of Fashion, I discovered that I did not care about fashion. Contrary to what I had imagined my future job to be, these academic experiences made me realise that my passion does not lie in trends and seasonal items, but in how fashion influences everyone's lives whether they want it or not.
In my writings, I constantly seek to apply social theories to my observations in an aim to unravel and understand people's behaviour. Writing has always been the path for me, I knew I wanted to be an author from a very young age, but it is the field of fashion that enabled me to express myself more proficiently. The sociology I have read and studied over the years has given me insight into the fashion industry and its protagonists I would have never thought of before.
While studying the MA Fashion Media Practice and Criticism, I have also contributed to both print and online publications:
- Superior Magazine
- Fucking Young!
- Zine Magazine
- LCF Blog
