My name is Olivia-Zara Burgher and in June 2015, I finished my third and final year of studying Fashion Public Relations at the London College of Fashion.
During my studies, I had the opportunity to work in-house with a leading high street within London, River Island as well as gained experience within other fields of communication like journalism (at Amor Magazine) and worked with independent graduate designers (Kitty Ferreira)
During my placement term, I had the opportunity to travel to New York City and intern at Karla Otto agency, completely expensed by myself. I wanted to experience the field of public relations from an international point of view as well as simply enjoy my youth! I quickly grew from a showroom assistant, to taking part in may other roles within the department, understanding the field of PR from many point of views. The brands I had the opportunity to 'look after' varied from Celine, Marni, Vionnet and many more. I have also worked with independent PR professionals who handle brands like such as Bora Aksu and Mark Fast in addition to other emerging UK based designers on their fashion shows and dealing with the press.
My dissertation title was named 'Women in Editorial: An investigation of the female body'
My Final major project was to produce a 12-month public relations campaign for a brand; I chose Christian Dior and focused on their leather goods, from the point of view of Raf Simons, their recent artistic director.
