Community Bricolage
crafts - community - recycle - upcycle - re-use -collaboration - interactive

I have always been passionate about fashion, especially the design and construction of clothing. After gaining a First Class Honours degree at the University of Huddersfield in Fashion Design, Manufacture, Marketing and Promotion I set up (rather naively!) my own eco-friendly clothing label, sunny wellington.
I had always wanted to research into fashion, management and sustainability further so when I started working at LCF I applied for the MA in Design Management. This course helped me to think about my ideas differently and develop them more fully.
Community Bricolage is a community based project which connects members with an interest in craft - fashion - sustainability - recycling both online and offline.
Before creating the final blog design I worked with 3 different target groups to gain an insight into prospective members of the community. I worked with: a group of administrators, a group of Rainbows and they're parents and residents of a care home.

From this I hope to develop a new eco-fashion label which is developed with the input of it's buyers. Community Bricolage has made me aware of the need for more customer input, more honesty and openness from fashion designers and more linking together between designers.
