Vilvin Sabu
I have a Graduate degree from India in fashion design technology. I worked on a movie project as an assistant designer before I joined London College of fashion. Greatly influenced by culture and travel I decided to come to London to peruse my ambition to further my knowledge in world of fashion and gain a more international view of the industry. London being one of the most cosmopolitan cities gives you a mixed influence of various cultures on fashion. Hoping to learn from and adapt these influences and create my own perception of it all, is what I aim to do in my work.
My finale year collection has a contemporary influences along with a mix of cultures bring forth an overpowering line of luxurious and modern clothing. The collection brings forth a new vision and application of cultural art. Prominently inspired by the kaleidoscope of Indian art and culture, this collection showcases a vibrant array of garments each with a unique touch and individuality.
Each garment has been impeccably crafted with a unique combination of wooden bead embroidery over rich and luxurious fabrics such as silk, jute blends etc. Fluid luxurious silhouettes put together with a sumptuous amount of minimalistic detailing yet answering the quotient of curiosity.
With the usage of traditional techniques such as dyeing and hand embroidery combined with a futuristic touch of design, every ensemble brings about the exuberance and passion for the creation of the collection. Element of historical construction is brought about by creating armouresque shoulders which is a key attention drawer.
