MAJOR PROJECT

Andeans Textiles express cultural traits transmitting a symbolic language that explain myths, ecological environment and social conditions in the Andean region of South America.
The essence of the textiles’ graphics will never be static but something that evolves through time.

For this project she use the digital media to transform from slow (hand-woven) to fast (digital pattern) process. The visual language previously enclosed in traditional textiles (rough hard material) can now be applied in new supports: surface, graphic, fashion, industrial design and architecture.

To demonstrate the versatility of the new methodology (digital pattern) she determinates to experiment in this project with digital textile, creating some pieces in order to be used in furnishing, interior design and fashion. They were printed in different fabrics such as velvet, cotton, and silk.

The effect and the result of this project is the Andean cultural identity democratisation in the textile industry and it will be applied in other fields.
