My final collection for MA Artefact in LCF in 2009 is “Jewel-Shoe-Jewel”.
This project is designed four pairs of high heels that include one upper design, eight heel designs, and eight jewellery designs. Each heel can be removed from each shoe and transform into a piece of jewellery. Heel-tops are replaceable. After wearing those high-heels, the wearers shall transform heels into jewellery and screw those gem-like heel-tops on jewellery as symbolic gem. Each right shoe can be worn with any left shoe in this collection. Therefore, twenty-eight pairs of shoe design will be created out of four pairs of shoe design. Furthermore, different wearers create different shapes of “gem” by walking on heel-tops. With this open ended design system, those jewellery will have immeasurable form possibility depending on unexpected users and their unexpected life.
The loud classic jewellery pattern is produced by photo-etch technique.
However, the real luxury of this collection is not only those symbolic jewellery details, but the luxury of “being the only one” through consumption that created by personaliszed jewellery.
